We provide the following insurance for Technology Salary Sacrifice schemes:
Accidental damage and extended warranty up to three years for:
We are one of the longest established suppliers of this insurance in the UK. We can create a bespoke scheme if you are a salary sacrifice operator of technology schemes to large employers.
The programme originated in Sweden – and in the UK, the Government promoted the original Home Computing Initiative some 10 years ago. Although the HCI tax break was discontinued, it is still possible to obtain a 20% employee saving.
In exchange for having a computer, your employee gives up a small amount of salary each month to cover the cost. This means that they pay less Income Tax and National Insurance therefore make savings. Basic rate tax payers can save up to 8% of income tax on the full cost of the equipment over the 36 month term. Additionally, the full 12% NI savings will also be passed on.
For higher rate tax payers the Income Tax savings are 16%, the NI savings 2% Your employees can choose the equipment up to the value of £2,500 and pay for it over the term via a salary sacrifice scheme. They don’t technically buy the equipment but are loaned it over the term. This is a Government requirement for this type of salary sacrifice benefit.
I-Phones and the like are the most stolen gadget, the most dropped gadget and most damaged by water out of all the things we insure. Because these devices are carried by most people 24/7 these days, our policies cover THEFT and LOSS.
Our scheme covers:
Most of our competitors policies no longer cover loss, and if they do, their premiums become very expensive.
The most likely thing to prevent you from enjoying your new I-Pad is dropping it and damaging the screen. Many people do this when taking it out of the slippery packaging on delivery.
Our policy covers the following:
Theft and Loss are optional extras. Please contact us if you have these requirements.
Similar to insuring a tablet, the most likely thing to prevent you from enjoying your new laptop, is dropping it and damaging the screen.
Our policy covers:
Our accidental damage policy covers dropping a machine, dropping a screen and damage caused by an accident. It also covers fluid spillage and, because desktop machines are more unreliable than laptops, we also extend a manufacturers’ warranty to coincide with the term of the salary sacrifice scheme. Here is the breakdown of what is covered:
Most manufacturers offer a 1 - 2 year warranty, however, as most salary sacrifice repayment schemes last 3 years, we extend this by an extra year for peace of mind to coincide with the full term of a salary sacrifice scheme. Extended warranty covers mechanical and electrical breakdown.
Our TV scheme covers:
Salary sacrifice schemes normally run longer than the manufacturer’s warranty and it is therefore important that the warranty is extended to co-inside with the term of the programme.
We offer an insured warranty which is more secure than that offered by any other means. Do you remember Evesham Computers? They stopped trading and therefore the warranty simply disappeared. Not so with an insured warranty – you get the protection of the UK Financial Services Authority.
This warranty is included for all peripherals – printers, flat screen TVs, routers, and anything else included in the programme.
The Employer saves 40% class 1a National Insurance contributions on the full cost of the equipment over the term.
At the end of the 36 month term they will be contacted to discuss the end of term options.
They can choose to return the computer for a nominal fee, or if they prefer to keep it, then they will also need to pay a nominal fee.
Should your employees wish to keep the computer, when they come to dispose of it, then they must do so in an environmentally friendly way.
